Tour the Factory--The Pots

Inside the furnace the batch is received by a ceramic pot (above). The pots have a life of about 3-4 months before the hostile environment of the furnace begins to break them down. When it's time to do a pot change, a new pot is pre-heated in a large kiln (left), then a section of the furnace wall is broken out. The old pot is removed, and the new pot set in it's place.
